The Beginners' Track
During registration (12:30-2:30) Friday afternoon we have "Find Your Level" sessions with the instructors, who will help attendees decide where they should start. In response to the phenomenal success at previous Camps, we're continuing the special Beginner's Tracks. These tracks are recommended for most students who have little or no experience on their instrument, and for all those who feel they need to re-acquaint themselves with the basics.
Each Beginner's Track has its own classes and jams, not to mention its own coordinator. Each program offers a full range of skills, involving hands on classes, one-on-ones, and demonstrations. Each is designed to help students progress quickly from knowing little or nothing to playing a few simple tunes in their chosen style. The particular emphasis will be on learning to play with others.
No experience in bluegrass or old-time picking is required.
The Beginner's Tracks meet for 2 sessions on Friday afternoon, two sessions Saturday morning and again on Sunday morning. Other beginner level classes are offered throughout each day. Students who start with either track are encouraged to stay with it, but may, at their own choosing, take any classes they desire.
Don't forget a recording device since you will be given enough material for approximately 6 months of study and practice.
