2. 1852 James Ashborn This accurate rendition of James Ashborn's exquisite, mid 19th century banjos, of which only a dozen originals have been identified, often require an extensive wait. Here's one available now for $2400.

1. Lee Fretless #187. Walnut neck on 12 in. gray stained pot. Inlayed wooden fret markers. Nylagut strings. Double arched scoop. Ex. cond, hsc, $1400.
2. Ron Chacey Custom neck on original Whyte Laydie 10 15/16", dark stained, bound curly maple neck with laminations, and scoop. Profusely inlayed and engraved, Fairbanks presentation style inlays, backstrap with old style griffin on back of the peghead. Extensively carved heel with inlay on cap. Gold plated, engraved Kirschner tailpiece. Gold plated, geared tuners with MOP buttons. $4250.

1. c1920s Gibson F4, rare blonde mandolin. Top original blonde, back, neck and sides refinished natural in 40s or 50s by John D'Angelico; repaired heel crack probably done when refinished. Currently fitted with ivory or bone tp saddle, ebony saddle included. Sound, action, and playability are excellent, w/new hsc. $6000 plus s/h/i..
2. c1917 Gibson F4, rare tobacco brown sunburst, currently outfitted with vintage style adjustable bridge -- ebony one piece bridge included. Sound, action, and playability are excellent. No top or body cracks, minor, almost invisible, repaired heel crack. Very "Loarish" in color, sound, and neck shape. Inlaid tuners, orig. pickguard, w/new hsc. $6250 plus s/h/i.
